In regard to inquiries related to content Xicanx Fly posts on social media or any other media platform, Xicanx Fly must respectfully decline the request to release information on the basis of location unless voluntarily administered. As an entity within an industry that financially benefits from volatile natural spaces, Xicanx Fly must respectfully acknowledge the position as an outside beneficiary, which draws on a fine line between exploitation and a reciprocal/transformative business model.

Out-Of-State

I do not live in nor did I grow up in [named state, region, locale, etc.], therefore I do not personally understand the social structures and pressures that impact those fisheries. So, to give information on any waters and lands that I do not have a residential or cultural relationship with can be dangerous because of my lack of place-based awareness, simply by the fact that I do not live there. This does not mean that I do not care about these places nor to say that I do not have an intentional and growing relationship with these places either.

Iowa Driftless

Regarding Iowa, I have committed to keeping the health and sustainability of our Driftless trout fisheries as my number one priority in my business model. Considering the fragility that our current DNR & legislative management systems have unfortunately presented for Iowa Driftless streams, it is my saddened decision/obligation to keep a sustainable balance of shared information. The incompetent trout regulations of our state simply cannot support widespread sharing of critical information (such as stream/river names, etc). For this reason, Xicanx Fly will not accept any form of inquiry for fishing locations in Iowa, especially for topics relating to 'big fish', 'high numbers', or 'low-crowds' locations. Xicanx Fly holds agency to withhold and/or share any information regarding fishing locations as needed.

This policy and perspective has been refined and developed over many years of having the privilege to fish coast to coast and spending time in many different fishing communities and choosing to be invested in their conservation efforts and dilemmas. Therefore, it is with deep and relational consideration that Xicanx Fly chooses to function on the basis that every decision is made with the loving intention of protecting all waters, lands, and their inhabitants to the best of my knowledge.
