Teach a kid to fish and they'll remember it for the rest of their lives. I focus on age-appropriate education and work to focus on safety, having fun (patience), ethics, and skill-building. My workshops/experiences are child-led and simple, but effective instruction. I've been teaching youth fishing for over 10 years and a wide spectrum of abilities and learning styles. Patience and care are two of my most prominent principles when it comes to teaching, especially with kids. Ideal group size is 5 - 10 kids depending on the chaperone to kid ratio, as well as age of the students. This experience can be centered around learning either spin fishing basics, fly fishing basics, or a little of both. All necessary equipment is provided. Youth 16 years and under do not require a fishing license in the state of Michigan in order to fish. Allow me a moment to get to know your children and teach them a valuable skill, and I guarantee you won't regret it! Let's go fishing!

24 hours (1 day) advance notice is recommended for booking with $150 nonrefundable deposit required at time of booking, with a debit/credit card to hold confirmation. Cancellations are accepted up until 72 hours before the trip; after that, 50% of the trip cost will be charged. No shows will be charged full booking price. Versatility is my game, but on occasion, weather may present hazardous conditions surrounding a trip; the guide will make the defining decision keeping safety and value of experience at the forefront. On the rare occasion that a trip is postponed or cancelled, the original trip deposit will be fully refunded, or can be used to hold a future date.
